OUR STORY
One day he saw a flier for a comprehensive Jadot tasting at the resort. It was a few hours with tastings of wines from regions he never even heard of. The tasting included discussions on soil, climate, grapes, location of the vineyards… everything. Robert was absolutely mesmerized. At the end of the event, he left with a new vision of how his curiosity for different cultures had an avenue to succeed…through wine.
He then moved to fine dining at the resort, and started gaining skills in his palate and knowledge of grapes, soils, and regions. He became the wine buyer at the Keystone Lodge. There he further fine tuned his palate and won two Wine Spectator awards. He was then offered the chance to become the General Manager for a new restaurant called Great Northern Tavern, also in Keystone. He continued to hone his skills over a four year stint, and again won Wine Spectator awards.

Table 31 was a booth table at Great Northern; the one where Robert and a friend sat down for a conversation over a wine and dinner. They came up with the idea to start a wine importing company, starting with Uruguay. Table 31 was born.
20 years later, Table 31 imports estate grown vineyards from great people that make great wines from Spain, Italy, and France. Robert has taken his curiosity for different cultures and turned it into not only a passion for wine but an expertise in varietals, soil types, pruning methods, impacts of weather and more. He teaches classes on wine and is frequently asked to consult on restaurant wine lists and consumer buying behavior.
